| I am trying to move the Imagic Inventory program from my computer to a replacement computer. All I get is errors. It wants a newer data base file version 29. Where do I find it? |

I am replacing an existing computer. The old one is still running windows 2000 and I want my whole network running on the xp platform. I had my IT guy install the imagic software from the disk. But now he is getting an error where it says" expected 21 but found 26. you are using an older version of software to access a newer database." Then it says to continue to update the software. But it looks like it is going to cost $50 to upgrade.
Now The windows 2000 Machine was using the up to date software, so I already payed to upgrade. Is there a better way to migrate to a different machine? or is it going to cost me $50 just to change machine. If so I will leave the machine as is. Any help is appriciated. |

You'd need to install the update file that you would have downloaded from our website. So you'd install the version from the CD then install the update.
For reference, after purchase you get 1 year of updates and support. After that time you can optionally renew support and updates (1 user is $49 at present).

By default the update files are named:
iMI-vXXX-Update.exe
Where XXX is the version number. So if you had an update file for v2.88 the file would be named:
iMI-v288-Update.exe

iMI-v2.53-Update.exe is the file i should be looking for.
Will i be able to select the version of 2.53? or will i need to update my whole setup to the most current version? If so what will the cost be to upgrade two workstations and the server database to the newest version. I am trying to decide if it is worth upgrading just to have my computers all on xp, or if i should just leave the computers running the way they are. Also is there a phone number of someone I could talk to about all of this? Thanks for all your help. |

The file would be:
iMI-v253-Update.exe
(without the extra period)
A 2 user renew is currently $59, if you select Help/Check Web for Updates it should give the options available.
At present we only have the resources for web/email support not phone.
