Hi John,

Each day I do an invoice printout from the total item sales from the previous day. As I was catching up on those today I noticed that all invoices saved from November 8, 2019 to the present has been lost since Norton blocked it from opening. I am unsure as to why but it looks like all the inventory that was entered in or taken out since the upgrade has been lost. I am not sure if there is anyway that we can retrieve that information without re inputting it, is that possible?

Thank you
Debbie

Hi Debbie,

Thanks for the question and screenshot.

You've cropped off the top of the list so I can't see those folders. However, you've at least 3 database files (the ones called db.mdb), so you could try opening those and see if they contain the missing information.

To do that, exit iMagic Inventory then:
1) Next to the Windows Start button, click on the "Type here to search" and type in "Network Administration" (without the quotes).

2) Select the Network Administration utility so that it launches.

3) Click Next past the welcome screen, leave the default "Select your database type" as it is, click Next.

4) Select the folder in which you want to open. The ones I can see from your screenshot are:
C:\Users\solep\Documents\iMagic Database
C:\Users\solep\Documents\iMagic Database - Copy

I'd assume the other one is the default folder:
C:\Users\solep\Documents\iMagic Inventory\Database

5) Once you find the missing items, you can export them (File/Export...) then switch back to the database file you want to use and import them (File/Import...)

Note that you need to restart iMagic Inventory each time you change the database file location through the Network Administration utility. You can see which database file is open by selecting Help > About and click "Database...".

Regards, John
