Hello,

We have just upgraded 6 computers from version 5.xx to version 6.7. We access several hotels (iMagic databases) at a time and for some reason on two of our computers, when we open any of the shortcuts to other databases (which used to work before) now it only opens one database or it loads the default db that we do not use, so it is empty. Could a technician remote into these computers and see why they are giving us these issues?

Hi Ruben,

Thanks for the question of using multiple databases with iMagic Hotel.

You can use iMagic Hotel to connect to a different database, you might want to do this if you have multiple hotels or are wanting to keep certain information separate. To do this you'd put each 'database file' into its own folder. Then create a shortcut to iMagic Hotel for each database. More instructions can be found in the FAQ.

The database override needs to be enabled on an installation for this to work. Select Configure > Advanced > Startup. Then check 'Allow Command Line database'. I'd also suggest checking 'Show database on title bar', that way you can see which you are connecting to.
