Hi, John

I would like to know if you could advise how to keep a record history of the items "go and come". Currently when I receive new items, I just change the stock level, I assume this is a wrong input. Could you show me how to input so that it is easy to monitor the movement of the stock.

Regards
Charlie

Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the post.

Yes, there are a few options for recording 'go and come' of inventory items. The method you'd choose would depend on what information you are wanting to be recorded. I'll list below from the simplest option:

- You can track manually receiving stock, this will give you reports on stock received (under the Vendor reports). For that, first, select Configure > Manual Receive Stock and check 'Record manually receiving stock'. Then when receiving stock select 'Inventory > Receive Stock'. You'd enter the stock received. iMagic Inventory will then update the stock quantity and record it against the item and date.

- You can use Vendor Reordering, this will record that you've ordered certain items, then later record when they are picked up or delivered. To use that select 'Vendors > Your Reorders'. Click 'New Reorder' and enter in the stock you're ordering from your supplier and quantity. When it arrives select Vendors > Receive Your Reorders. iMagic Inventory will record the ordered, received items and supplier details.

- If you want an automated method you can use the Reorder Stock Point, this will allow you to set a trigger quantity for a stock item. When it falls below that quantity it will appear on the 'Vendors > Stock Status and Reorder', where you can create Vendor Reorders automatically. iMagic Inventory will add items to the reorder so they get to the Reorder Stock Level. If those fields aren't visible when you edit an item, select 'Configure > Item Fields' to select them. You can also have the item triggered for order by 'Warehouse' quantity rather than total quantity. That would be used if you're managing multiple locations and want the stock level to be maintained at each.

Regards, John
