Hello:

Just completed the installation. Once problem however. The workstation not seeing the server database. Followed the instructions as outlined.
One missing piece: Am I to register each workstation with the keycode?

The network is peer to peer.

Regards,

St. O. Oliver

Hi Oliver,

Thanks for the post.

Yes, you would want to register each workstation under 'Help > Enter Registration Key'.

For the Standard Edition of iMagic Inventory networking uses the regular Windows shared folders. So if you share the central database folder on the network you should be able to access that share from the other PCs via File Explorer. If you can't then iMagic Inventory will not be able to either. Once you have that resolved you should be able to 'Network Administration' utility to tell iMagic Inventory where the shared folder is.

I'm not sure if you have found them already but you can find the latest network setup instructions here:

Hello John:

Found the subdirectory. It is in user rather than in the installed sub-directory.

Thanks,

Hi Oliver,

The database should be in the default database folder:
Documents\iMagic Inventory\Database

I'd suggest leaving it there unless you have a good reason to put it elsewhere.

Regards, John
