Hi John,

We have purchased the EDS for 2 years and we would like to include the database file in our regular backups.

Could you please guide us on this as we just want to make sure that backup is ready at our end to send to your team in case our system crashes in the future (as precautionary step).

Best,
Karthik

Hi Karthik,

Thanks for the post.

How you backup is up to you your preference. My suggestion, though would be to ensure that the database is in the default folder (Documents\iMagic Hotel Reservation\Database). Then either schedule regular backups via Windows Backup, manually backup on a regular basis via File > Backup Database or copy the 'database file' to your backup drive or PC (the database file has all your information it's called 'db.mdb').

You want the backed up database on a different hard drive (in case of drive failure) and ideally at a different location (in case of fire or theft).

Regards, John

Thanks a lot, John. We will do as advised.

Could you please let me know how to schedule regular automatic backups.

Best,
Karthik

Hi Karthik,

Thanks for the reply.

You can create regular Windows backups under 'Backup' in Windows. Windows has two options, 'File History' and 'Backup and Restore', they are under the Start menu.

Regards, John
