Hello John,

Is there a way for us to export CSV file back to iMagic? What we want to do is to replace our current category and sub category with new category and sub category we have recently created. I have attache CVS file so you can see.

For example, in line 4. Number is 3 and Name is 117524 CAP; and current category and sub category under this number/name is Bostitch and Gun Parts. We want to replace this current category/sub category with the new category and sub category (Supply and Part) by exporting the file back to iMagic. Can this be done?

We appreciate your help very much!

Thank you very much

Simon

Hi Simon,

Thanks for the question of using iMagic Inventory with Excel.

Yes, you can export out inventory to Excel and then reimport it back in. To this you must select the 'overwrite' option otherwise it will create new items rather than updating the existing items. I would also strongly suggest backing up your database before importing. It's easy to make a mistake (selecting a wrong field for example) and it will change your entire database. If you have a backup you can just restore and try again.

Regards, John

Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the question on fields. The information in any fields on the import/export can be edited.

Regards, John
