Hi Jon,

I am trying to update my rates for 2017 and I want to use the new room rate, multiple room option but I cannot get it to work.

I set up the seasonal pricing for a specific room type, I enable all 4 options, for multiple rooms, room group pricing etc., and then I tried to edit a room I had, but it didn't work, then I tried to create a new room and choose this pricing option and that didn't work either.

What are the correct steps and options I need to update my prices this way, instead of going through each of my 70+ rooms individually?

Thank you, Adrienne

Hi Adrienne,

Thanks for the post.

Room Type pricing is an advanced feature that allows you to set the pricing once, it will then be applied to any rooms marked as that Room Type. It takes some time to setup, but once it has been setup it makes changing rates easier as you only have to do it once (rather than individually for each room). It can be helpful if you have a lot of rooms or are linking via Web Services to certain websites like Expedia that require Room Types.

To enable Room Type pricing:
1) Select from the menu - Configure > Advanced > Room Pricing Options.
2) Check 'Enable Room Type Pricing'.

To setup the shared Rates:
1) Select from the menu - Configure > Advanced > Rates
2) Click 'Add' and enter in the rates for your Room Type. I'd suggest using the same 'Rate Name' as the 'Room Type' to keep it organized (ie Single, Double etc).

To setup the Room Types and assign the Rates:
1) Select from the menu - Configure > Advanced > Room Types.
2) Click 'Add' and enter in the Room Type details (ie Single, Double, etc). Under 'Default Room Rate', select the Rate that you created above.

To setup the Rooms to use the Room Types:
1) Select from the menu - Configure > Rooms.
2) Edit the Room and change the 'Room Type' to the one you created above.

Now when you making a hotel booking for that room it will use the Room Type and Rate you've set. To change the Rates in the future select Configure > Advanced > Rates, they will then be applied to all the relevant rooms.

Regards, John
