Running v.1.29 on Windows 7
I can't find the db.mdb file in Windows explorer to transfer to another computer.
Is there a way to save the db on an external drive which can be connected to the in use computer instead of setting up a vpn. The reservationists are in different locations with their own computers, but we would like to have current info for each user. |

Make sure that you don't have "system folders hidden" otherwise it wont show in Windows File Explorer. You can actually still get to it though by typing it in. So most likely it is something like:
c:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\iMagic\iMagic Tour Reservation
You can see folder it's using by selecting Help/About and clicking "Database" from the main menu in iMagic Tour.
If you want simultaneous users to use the system at the same time and they are in different locations then you would need a network between the locations. The simplest way would be to use the internet and create a VPN. The alternatives would require a direct connection, bypassing the internet, such as a direct ISDN line or satellite. They are possible and some people are using them but I suspect you'd be looking at upwards of $10,000.

I have copied the db file from one computer to the other and none of the information is available on the new computer. |

What is the full database folder on the new PC? (I'm wondering if it's a Compatibility Folder issue)

c:\programdata\imagic\imagic tour reservation\db.mdb
i did notice the tour reservation version is 1.26 on the new computer and 1.29 on the first computer.
Both OS are Win 7 home Premium |

OK if you delete the Database File on the new computer then launch iMagic Tour does it say that it cannot find the database file? It should do that, if it doesn't then it's getting the database from another folder.
What is the Database Folder on the old PC? Is it also in "c:\programdata\imagic\imagic tour reservation\" or is it in the "c:\program files\" folder? If it's the Program Files folder then you'd need to click on the "Compatibility Folder" button on the toolbar to go to the actual folder to copy the file from.
If that still fails please email me the Database File you are copying (you might want to ZIP it first) and I will check that it does actually contain the data.

After deleting the db.mdb file, tour reservation started normally.
both computers show the same path to reach the db file. |

Yes it must be getting the database from another folder. I'd suggest either searching your drive for all db.mdb files (which will find the folder to use) or resetting the database folder altogether. To do that:
1) Create a new folder, something simple like:
c:\imagic
2) Copy the backed up database into the folder.
3) Launch the Network Administration program Start/iMagic Tour Reservation/Network Administration.
4) Use the wizard to set the folder to c:\imagic.
I'll also check here to see if there are any issues, I'm not aware of anything but I will check through the process.
