|
|
We are required to use a pre-printed invoice form by the Mexican government. In trying to create the invoice template in Word, I run into issues if I print more than 3 items in the invoice-specifically, my subtotals and notes exceed the pre-printed form spacing.
I've been playing with tables in Word, but I keep running into the same issue when new line items are inserted....namely the subtotal table gets shifted to a second page. I can define a footer for the pre-printed form that will contain all the subtotal information, however I have not figured out how to populate the data into the footer. Is this possible? |

I've tried the template here in Word and it doesn't look like the header or footer can include tags.
From your description though have you tried making the font smaller, then the information would have more space?
I'll look into being able to include tags in the header/footer and see if it's possible. It just depends on what the Microsoft interface allows us to do.

Sadly, I did try that. But I still have an issue with spacing. Essentially, I have the Cusomer name and address in the top section. That's fixed and I have it spaced with a table. I go down a couple lines, then start my <itemlist> tag. I used your example to start with and created a table with four columns - one for qty, one for decription, one for unit price and the final for extended price.
Each new line item adds a new row to the table-all as it should. My problem is that I have to go down about 8" from the top of the page for the subtotal, tax, and final total values. Every time a new line is added to the <itemlist> section, those totals get pushed further down the page and the form alignment gets trashed.
I was trying to use continuous sections to set top margins and use sections to align it, or the footer idea-but I can't get that to work.
My only other thought would be to ask if there was a way to change the behavior of the <itemlist> tag somehow so that I could predefine the table with say 15 rows, and instead of adding a new row just having the <itemlist> go to the next row in the table. I can restrict them from ever having more items than the number of rows in the <itemlist> tags. |
